IUMS Sheikh Sameer Saeed to Cape Town Mosque Congregation: You Will Be the Muslim Army to Protect Jerusalem; We Will Fight the Jews and Christians in the End Times

Jordanian cleric Dr. Sameer Saeed, presented as the Deputy Head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars – an organization led by Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradhawi – said to his audience in a June 14, 2019 Friday sermon at Masjidul Quds in Cape Town, South Africa that they should know the distance between Cape Town and Jerusalem because they will one day be the "army for the Muslims to protect Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque." Dr. Saeed said that it is a "miracle" that one out of seven verses in the Quran discusses the Jews and Jerusalem, and he said that there is no mention of the presence of Jews. He emphasized Jerusalem and Palestine's significance during the end times, saying that it is where the Muslims will fight the "Great Wars" against the Jews and the Christians and that it is where the Antichrist will be killed by Jesus. He concluded with a prayer for Allah to grant victory to Islam, to liberate Al-Aqsa, and to bless the congregants with prayer in Al-Aqsa as its liberators. The sermon was streamed live on Masjidul Quds' YouTube channel. For more sermons in Cape Town, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 6262, No. 6662, No. 6948, and No. 7290.

Sameer Saeed: "I want to ask you one question.

[...]

"What's the distance between Cape Town and Jerusalem?

[...]

"Why am I asking this question? Because in the future, you will be army for the Muslims to protect Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

[...]

"This is the important issue in the world.

[...]

"Also, a second question. If we want to talk about the Israelites, their prophets, Jews, the story with the Prophet Muhammad, the story with prophets, the story with other prophets... How many verses in the Quran talk about that?

[...]

"[There are] 835 verses... One in seven verses in the Quran are talking about the Israelites, the Jews, and the holiness of Jerusalem.

[...]

"It's one in seven [verses] – this is a miracle.

[...]

"Where are the Jews in the talk [about angels, Adam, and Abraham having built Al-Aqsa]? There are no Jews. The Al-Aqsa Mosque... The Sacred Mosque, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque – these are the first buildings in the world, these two. There were no Jews at that time.

[...]

"All of you will visit Jerusalem.

[...]

"All the people – Muslims, infidels, from Cape Town, from Johannesburg, from Malaysia, from Indonesia – from all [over] the world, from Adam up to the last [person] – all of them will go to Jerusalem, because it is the land of resurrection and end times.

[...]

"The battles between us and the Jews – where will they be in the [end] times? The Jews said this is the battles of Megiddo, and the Christians said it is Armageddon. And the Muslims, what do they say? The Great Wars.

[...]

"The Great Wars, in the last [days], between us and the Jews and the Christians – it will be there. Also, a second thing. The Antichrist – where will he be killed? Jesus, the Prophet of Allah, will come from Damascus and follow the Antichrist [to] the gate of Lod [in Palestine].

[...]

"The Antichrist in Palestine, Gog and Magog in Palestine, Jesus in Palestine, the Jews – in the future – and the Christians, in Palestine... All of your future is connecting in this land.

[...]

"I ask Allah to grant victory to His religion and to raise up His Word, and to liberate the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to bless us that we may pray together at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as its liberators, Allah willing."
