Mahmoud Habbash, advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said in a December 29, 2023, Friday sermon, delivered in Ramallah and aired on Palestine TV, that the "criminal" United States is responsible for every drop of Palestinian blood that is shed in Gaza. He continued to say that the U.S., "which is covered in shame and disgrace," will "pay for this one day."

Mahmoud Habbash: "More than a hundred thousand people in the Gaza Strip are now either martyrs, or wounded, or are missing. Hundreds of thousands of people are homeless, in the streets. The incompetent Islamic nation cannot even send a single meal or a single sip of water, while criminal America, which is covered in shame and disgrace, and which bears responsibility for every single drop of blood... One day, they will pay for this. One day, they will pay for this.
