Sheikh Maher Hamoud, the Secretary-General of the Union of Resistance Ulama, said on a December 27, 2023, show on Palestine Today TV (Palestinian Islamic Jihad) that the "ancient character" of the Jews, that Muslims have "learnt about through the Talmud, the Torah, and the moral values of the Israelites in the Quran" has been exposed. He said that Jews believe that anyone who is not a Jew is a beast that has been created in order to serve the "Chosen People." Hamoud said that they treat others unjustly, take their money, and kill them. He continued to say that some Jews add the blood of gentile children to their matzos, and that they had kidnapped children in Syria for this purpose before the State of Israel was established.

Sheikh Maher Hamoud: "These 81 days have exposed the true face of the West, and emphasized the ancient character that we read about, that we learnt about through the Talmud, the Torah, and the moral values of the Israelites in the Quran, and throughout the history of humanity. The most important of the characteristics that were highlighted now is that they believe that anyone who is not a Jew is a beast that had been created in order to serve the Chosen People, and that they are allowed to treat others unjustly, take their money, and kill them.

"According to a famous story called, Blood for the Matzos of Zion, by Syrian [sic] writer Naquib Al-Kilani, for some Zionists, the celebration of the Jewish Passover is not complete unless they add the blood of a child from among the goyim, the gentiles, to their matzos. Therefore, they would abduct children in Damascus. We are talking about the 1930s or so, before the establishment of the [Israeli] entity."
