Iranian Filmmaker Nader Talebzadeh Discusses 2019 "New Horizon" Conference That Will Take Place in Lebanon, Says It Will Be About Israel's Infiltration into America's "Deep State," Announces Next Conference Will Be in Iraq

Iranian filmmaker Nader Talebzadeh said in an August 23, 2019 interview on Channel 1 TV (Iran) that this year's New Horizon Conference, of which he is the secretary, will be taking place in Lebanon on September 20-25. He said that participants will present reports about Israel's infiltration into the American "deep state" and that they will visit Beirut, southern Lebanon, the border with Israel, and possibly Syria. Talebzadeh said that the announcement that the conference will take place in Lebanon caused the U.S. to sanction people involved with the New Horizon Conference as Specially Designated Global Terrorists rather than Specially Designated Nationals, and he announced that the next New Horizon Conference will take place in Iraq under the title "Why America Needs to Leave Iraq." To see the New Horizon founders discuss the sanctions they are subject to, see MEMRI TV Clip No. 7065. For more about Nader Talebzadeh, see MEMRI TV Clips No. 127, No. 881, No. 945, and No. 1735.

Following are excerpts:

Anchor: The secretary of the New Horizon Conference says that agents from the American security agency, the FBI, have investigated guests of the conference and applied unprecedented pressure in order to prevent them from attending the conference. Mr. Talebzadeh added that the American government has threatened the American guests of New Horizon with ten years in prison and a fine of one million dollars.

The New Horizon Conference took place last year in Mashhad. This year's conference is meant to take place on September 20-25 in Lebanon, in the presence of personalities from dozens of countries.

Nader Talebzadeh: Look, this is the only place where they can gather… We decided that the next conference should take place in Lebanon since Lebanon is a sensitive location. Part of the conference will take place on the border with Israel. They need to see the state that Israel is in. [The U.S.] is mad that we did not stop this conference. The moment we announced that it will take place in Lebanon, and when I had an interview on Mayadeen TV in which I explained that the conference will take place on September 20 in Lebanon, they upgraded the sanctions on us from SDN to SDGT.

Anchor: Can you explain what this means?

Nader Talebzadeh: SDN sanctions are like the other sanctions on Iran – "Specially Designated National." SDGT stands for "Specially Designated Global Terrorist." You become a global terrorist.

I announce today that the next conference [after the one in Lebanon] will take place in Iraq under the title: "Why America Needs to Leave Iraq."

[…]

Anchor: This year, with Lebanon hosting, what is your plan for the conference?

Nader Talebzadeh: Each guest has prepared a report that will be presented about Israel's influence in America – the "deep state" in America. We will discuss this.

[The conference attendees] will be in Beirut for two or three days, two days in the south, and, perhaps, they will go to Syria for one day.
