Shiite Cleric Muhammad Baqir Al-Fali Berates Iraqi President Fuad Masum over His Response to Karrada Bombing: May Allah Crush Your Head on Judgment Day!

Shiite cleric Muhammad Baqir Al-Fali slammed Iraqi President Fuad Masum, PM Abadai, and FM Al-Jaafari over their alleged lackluster reaction to the July 3 Karrada bombing. In one of his Ramadhan lectures, delivered in Karbala, Al-Fali cursed President Masum and his parents. "Who made you president upon us?!" he asked, accusing him of staying in London for his holiday despite the terror attack. Al-Fali's lectures aired on Shaa'er TV and were later posted on YouTube by Alzahraa Media.

Following are excerpts

Muhammad Baqir Al-Fali: What is this farce?! In the heart of the Iraqi capital, [in Karrada on July 3], more than 800 people were killed, torn to pieces, wounded... Tragedies. Who is responsible for this destruction? What will you say to Allah on Judgment Day?

The honorable president of our republic is a man whom we never see or hear. Who is [Fuad Masum]? Who imposed this president upon us? He is a Sunni Kurd, who is sitting there... Not even there, he sits in London. You tell me...

While the Iraqi people is being torn to pieces, the honorable president of the Iraqi republic... May Allah crush your head on Judgment Day! A curse on both your parents! What kind of president are you? You are clueless about your people. Some president you are. Who made you president upon us?! What kind of problem is this?! He's a president! He and his family are off having a good time in London. He did not even consider... He did not even condemn [the attack].

The American president was at the eastern end of the world, but when five policemen were killed in America, he cut his trip short and returned. Why? Not because he was heartbroken, but because the law there is clear. If he hadn't, that would have been the end of him. He went back, conveyed his condolences, and it was covered by all the TV stations in the world. That's one kind of president, and our "honorable" president is of another kind. When he was young, he was with Saddam, and now he's I-don't-know-where. Where is he? Where? Did he go to London to pray or to fast the Ramadhan? He's on vacation. Who gave him a vacation? And the oppressed people sit in despair... A lot could be said about our honorable prime minister as well.

What could be said of our foreign minister, Ibrahim Al-Eshaiker [Jaafari] of Karbala... We know him. We know Ibrahim. He just sits there. He doesn't care if people die. When two people were killed in Saudi Arabia, he sent his condolences, but when people are killed in your own country and province, in Karbala - at least participate in the ceremonies... Shame on you. Shame on you. A president... A minister... Who made you foreign minister? You tell me. He's a medical doctor. Who made him foreign minister? I am a political science graduate and I understand politics better than those two. It's a farce. Our country is a farce.
