Lebanese Druze Leader Walid Jumblatt: It Is Permissible to Kill Anybody Who Is with the Syrian Regime

Source: LBC (Lebanon)

Following are excerpts from an interview with Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt, which aired on LBC/LDC TV on April 4, 2013.:

Walid Jumblatt: I salute the courage of Sheik Moaz Al-Khatib [president of the Syrian opposition coalition]. I criticize his critics. I hold him in esteem. I reject the Western logic of refusing to arm the resistance in Syria because of [Al-Qaeda's] Nusra Front. I categorically reject this logic.

Interviewer: What, the Nusra Front does not exist?

Walid Jumblatt: It is the Syrian people in its entirety that is fighting. I would like to talk about the special circumstances of the Druze. At first, my main concern was the future of the Druze there, but not anymore. All the supporters of the regime are on one side, and all those who oppose it will be part of the victorious side. It is permissible to kill anybody who is with the [Syrian] regime.
