On June 9, 2020, Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) uploaded a video to its Telegram channel showing masked fighters preparing truck bombs to be used by those who are seeking martyrdom to "repel the fascist Russian offense" on the Jabal Al-Zawiya area, as HTS member Farouq Al-Sham said in the video. Another member of HTS, Muhammad Al-Sham, said: "I swear by Allah, you will see from us nothing but the flames of the truck bombs."
Farouq Al-Shami: "In the name of Allah we begin, and from Him we ask for help. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all of his companions. My brothers, as you can see before you now, your brothers in HTS, the military industry branch, are preparing vehicle bombs for the fighters who are seeking martyrdom, to repel the fascist Russian offense on the Jabal Al-Zawiya area. As we have promised, we will sacrifice everything for the sake of Allah, protect His religion, and make His word superior."
Muhammad Al Shami: "This is what we have prepared for the Russian occupiers and the hateful Rafidites. We will never forget the kill, the displacement, and desecration of the grave of Caliph Oman Bin Abd Al-Aziz – the greatest testament of your hidden hatred towards the Sunnis. I swear by Allah, you will see from us nothing but the flames of the truck bombs."
