Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised speech on February 16 that "if the Lebanese Higher Defense Council makes an official decision that some gas and oil rigs in the Palestinian sea – a sea plundered by Israel, the enemy entity – must not operate, I promise you that within a few hours they will not operate anymore." The crowds responded with cries of "We respond to your call, Nasrallah!" The speech, at a rally marking the tenth anniversary of the "martyrdom" of Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyah, was broadcast on the Lebanese Al-Jadeed/New TV channel.

Hassan Nasrallah: "If the Lebanese Higher Defense Council makes an official decision that some gas and oil rigs in the Palestinian sea – a sea plundered by Israel, the enemy entity – must not operate, I promise you that within a few hours they will not operate anymore. They will not operate anymore."

Audience: "We respond to your call, Nasrallah! We respond to your call, Nasrallah!"

Hassan Nasrallah: "Our conduct must reflect that these are our rights, and nobody is doing us any favor in this regard. These are our rights. We must achieve them, and we are strong enough and capable of achieving them."
