Former Moroccan Human Rights Minister: Only Democracies Can Get Foreign Armies out of the Region

#341 | 53
Source: Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar)

The following are excerpts from an interview with former Minister of Human Rights in Morocco Muhammad Zayyan:

The only ones capable of getting the foreign armies out of the region are democratic liberal regimes. On the other hand, totalitarian Ba'athist dictatorships do not help one bit in removing the Foreign and American armies from the region. On the contrary, they are being used by the foreign armies as a pretext to enter this region. Without the democratization of the region, without democratic liberal regimes, without liberal forces, we will not be able to get the American army out of Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Therefore, I say that from a pan-Arab perspective, reform is necessary and democracy is necessary, and that the liberal choice is the only solution that can get us out of our crisis.
