Egyptian TV Host Ibrahim Eissa: The Taliban Is The Essence And Culmination Of All Islamic Ideas; Given The Opportunity, The Muslim Brotherhood Would Implement The Same Version Of Islam As Afghanistan

Egyptian TV host Ibrahim Eissa said that given the opportunity, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamists would implement the same version of Islam as the Taliban, because this is the culmination and essence of "all the Islamic ideas." He made his remarks on his show that aired on Al-Kahera Wal-Nas TV (Egypt) on September 1, 2021. Eissa said that all attempts by Qatar, Turkey and others to present the Taliban as though they have changed are meaningless, because if the Taliban had changed, they would no longer be the Taliban. He also said that the claim that "terrorism has no religion" is false, because when a terrorist says that he wants to implement the shari'a, he does so on the basis of the Quran and hadiths. Eissa went on to say that the Muslim Brotherhood is in fact the Taliban, but under another name. Ibrahim Eissa: "Why do people say that 'terrorism has no religion?' So, what is terrorism then? When a terrorist says that he wants to implement the true religion, as was given to us by Allah, and that he wants to implement the shari'a – you want to tell me that it has nothing to do with religion? Everybody is saying...

"Look at any act of terrorism in the world – a man running over people in Europe, a bombing in Sinai, a bombing in Afghanistan – everybody immediately says: 'Terrorism has no religion,' and they say it in the utmost devotion and acceptance. What do you mean by 'Terrorism has no religion?' C'mon... What is it then? He is using religion, using hadiths and Quranic verses, so we must respond to the fact that he is saying that this is the religion. I do not understand the saying 'Terrorism has no religion.' Terrorism does have a religion. Sometimes it is a Muslim terrorist and his religion is Islam.

"Other times, it is a right-wing Christian terrorist... Allah! So, how come 'Terrorism has no religion?' My point is that the Muslim Brotherhood – were, and still are, the same as the Taliban, but with a different name. If the Muslim Brotherhood were given the opportunity... If MB Supreme Guide [Mohammed] Badie was in Afghanistan right now, he would have made the people dress the same way as in Afghanistan, and he would have done everything that is being done in Afghanistan today.

"It is not that the Taliban is narrow-minded, and the Muslim Brotherhood is more open-minded. Not at all! It is only a matter of environment, feasibility, and opportunity. Once they have the opportunity, they will all be like the Taliban.

[...]

"The important point here is the desire of some elements in the Islamic movement to improve [the image] of the Taliban. We are mainly talking about Turkey and Qatar. The desire to peddle this 'new version' of Taliban – this is nonsense altogether.

[...]

"The attempt to present this 'new version' of the Taliban... This is a new age... Mullah Omar died, the mullah that followed him was killed by the Americans, and the [current] mullah is whatever... This is all an illusion! The Taliban is the same old Taliban. If the Taliban ever changed, it would stop being Taliban. This is its raison d'etre. In addition, they are nice enough to say clearly: Enough of this democracy nonsense already... They are simply saying this. They are not wasting time on saying that they have changed, or trying to embellish their image. The Taliban is the essence and the culmination of all the Islamic ideas."
