Chinese TV Host 'Salwa': 'War-Thirsty' U.S. Is Responsible for Most of the Wars in the World; The American Model of Democracy has Failed

#9097 | 02:20
Source: CGTN Network (China)

Chinese TV host "Salwa" said that the United States is "war-thirsty" and that it is responsible for 81% of all the wars in the world since the Second World War. She made these remarks on her show that aired on the official Chinese broadcaster CGTN Arabic (China) on September 26, 2021. Salwa continued to say that America tried to force democracy on the countries of the world, but the American model of democracy has failed, and all the places in which the U.S. is present suffer from disorder and poverty. She asked: "Where are the democracy and human rights promised by the U.S.?" For more information about CGTN's "Salwa," see MEMRITV clip no 9032.

Salwa: "Even though it is a country with a history of just over 240 years, the U.S. has launched and participated in wars over 200 times. Since the end of World War II in 1945 and until 2001, the U.S. launched about 81% of the armed conflicts in 153 regions in the world. In order to maintain American hegemony, some politicians in the U.S. employ military means to interfere in the affairs of other countries, and in order to strengthen American values.

[...]

"The U.S. has also tried to transform other countries in accordance with its own desires, and to plant democracy by force. Naturally, all these attempts, without exception, have ultimately failed. This has caused deep crises to many nations. The data shows that in the past 20 years, the wars and the military operations waged by the U.S. in 85 countries around the world led to the killing of 929,000 people and the displacement of at least 38 million people. Where are the democracy and human rights promised by the U.S.? All we see is disorder, poverty, and hard living wherever the U.S. was present, which proves the failure of the American democracy model.

[...]

"How does war build the U.S.? How does the U.S. use war to cause harm to the world? It is time the world paid attention to the source of its war with the "war-thirsty" U.S. This is Salwa, from Beijing."
