On November 3, 2023, Australian-Chinese YouTuber Edgar Lu "Sydney DaDDy" livestreamed his comments about MEMRITV, specifically recent clips of Hamas leaders. He said that thanks to MEMRI, everyone can now know what "these guys" are saying when they are interviewed in Arabic. The MEMRITV clips featured on Sydney DaDDy, were of senior Hamas official Ali Baraka, Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk, and Hamas official Ghazi Hamad, which went viral on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Edger Lu: "There is a channel specifically dedicated to collecting a lot of material from the Middle East, because we don't understand Arabic, right? So there's such a channel on Twitter which specifically gathers all these materials, turns them into short clips, and then translates them into English. This lets everyone know what these guys were actually saying when they were interviewed in the Arab world.
"Three videos came out in one day, each more explosive than the last. Let's show them one by one, starting with the first. This first one features a very famous person. Notice how dark his forehead looks, see? This person, with a dark forehead, right? His name is [Ghazi] Hamad, and he is probably the most important spokesperson for Hamas.
