Jaafar Al-Husseini, spokesman for the Iraqi Hizbullah Brigades, said that "we have been on Syrian soil since 2013, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army" and that "we have engaged in battle and have had dozens of martyrs." Interviewed on Mayadeen TV on June 19, Al-Husseini further said that "if the Syrian army wants us to participate [in the campaign in southern Syria], we are ready and willing."

Jaafar Al-Husseini: "We are not hiding the fact that we are present in Syria, and are operating alongside the Syrian Arab Army. The Hizbullah Brigades, as an Islamic resistance, enter Syrian territory and operate there, in coordination [with the Syrian army]. We have units inside Syria. We do not hide this. We are active in that area..."

Interviewer: "Do you go there on a regular basis?"

Jaafar Al-Husseini: "We have been on Syrian soil since 2013, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army. We have engaged in battle and have had dozens of martyrs."

Interviewer: "Will you take part in the campaign in southern Syria?"

Jaafar Al-Husseini: "This is up to our commanders who coordinate with the Syrian Arab Army. If the Syrian army wants us to participate, we are ready and willing."
