Following are excerpts from an interview with Ibrahim Farhat, Hizbullah's Al-Manar TV PR director, which aired on Al-Alam TV on December 5, 2010:
Ibrahim Farhat: In the West, there are large institutions that monitor the Arab media. In particular, there are Israeli institutions, located in foreign countries, especially in the US, that monitor the Arab media continuously and directly, including MEMRI. When we were sued in France, in the Al-Manar TV case, they used recordings made by this institute [MEMRI].
The Western media in not just composed of satellite channels, but is a comprehensive system. The Arab media has not yet formed such a system, in order to defend itself.
