Gazan Scholar Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Farra: It Is Our Religious Duty to Fight the Jews and "Kill them Wherever You May Find Them"

Gazan scholar Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Farra, a lecturer at the Shari'a and Law College of the Islamic University of Gaza, said in a February 3, 2019 interview on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas/Gaza) that it is a religious duty to fight the Jews in Palestine who, he said, occupy the land, violate Muslim holy sites, and kill Muslims. Dr. Al-Farra said that the the Quranic verse that says "kill the polytheists wherever you may find them" applies to the Jews, and that all of Palestine is a battlefield between the Muslims and the Jews. He added that the Muslims must use any effective means to fight the "criminal enemy." He also said that the Jews may be captured for purposes of prisoner swaps. Dr. Al-Farra is a member of the Palestine Islamic Scholars Association and the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which is headed by Yusuf Al-Qaradawi.

Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Farra: When the time Allah gave [the criminal polytheists] runs out, fighting them will be mandatory. This is the context of this verse. This applies today to the plundering Jews who drove out our fathers and forefathers, occupied our lands, defiled our holy places, killed our people, and violated our sanctities.

Interviewer: They also betrayed their promises.

Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Al-Farra: Right. So the following has become our duty: "Kill the polytheists wherever you may find them." Today, you can rest assured that, according to the religious ruling, Palestine in its entirety constitutes a battlefield between us and the Jews. Therefore, we must strive to fight them using any means that might enable us to get to them anywhere in our pure land, using any means that might enable us to get to them anywhere in our pure land, in the hope of driving them out, Allah willing.

It is our duty today to fight this criminal enemy. First of all, we should try to kill them – "Kill the polytheists wherever you may find them…" [The verse continues:] "…and seize them." There is a second option of capturing them so we can swap them for our prisoners.
