Speaking at an anniversary ceremony for Fatah in Nablus, Mahmoud Al-Aloul, the deputy chairman of the Fatah movement said that the Palestinians' main enemy is "the occupation and America" and he expressed Fatah’s wish for national unity. Another speaker at the ceremony pledged that "Fatah of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade" will return to take up arms. A model of an Israeli settlement was set on fire and a speaker was heard saying that [Fatah] will soon escort the "war criminals" to the International Criminal Court. The ceremony was aired on the Palestinian Authority official TV channel, on January 5, 2020.

Mahmoud Al-Aloul: "We say this clearly: Our conflict is with the occupation and with America. Our main enemy is the occupation and America. Other than that, we want to formulate national unity. This is what we do.

"We will never allow anyone to go along with what Trump wants with regard to Jerusalem. Therefore, we insist that Jerusalem and Gaza be part of this process."

Other Speaker: "Yes! Fatah! Fatah of the Black Panther. Fatah! Hawks of the Fatah. Fatah of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades. They will return to their pledge of the past. They will take up arms. We shall escort the war criminals to the [International] Criminal Court. It will be soon and it will be with the support of all of us."
