On December 16, 2023, Houthi armed forces spokesman Brig.-Gen. Yahya Saree announced on his Telegram channel that the Yemeni armed forces' "Drone Corps" fired a large number of drones towards "sensitive targets in the Eilat area, in the southern part of occupied Palestine." He said that the Yemeni armed forces will "continue their military operations against the Zionist entity until it stops its aggression against our brother standing fast in Gaza." In addition, he called on all "free people in the Arab and Islamic nation and in the entire world to take honorable stances with regard to the Palestinian issue in support and aid of the [Palestinians'] free resistance."
