On August 8, 2023, a user on the Islamic State (ISIS)-operated Rocket.Chat server shared a link to the official site of the SimpleX messaging app, mentioning that the app is compatible only with Android and iOS. Responding to other users, the original poster confirmed that the app is secure and supports end-to-end encryption. Another user then advised against downloading the app from Google Play Store, the official app store for Android, and recommended using F-Droid instead, or downloading directly from the app's website.
