On January 26, 2018, Tasnim News Agency reported that Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, who is top military aide to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, had warned against plots to "create a gap" between the Iranian people and the government. Safavi said that Iran's enemies are seeking to hit the country's national unity through cyberspace, saying that most of the calls for riots during the recent unrest in the country were made in cyberspace.
