On June 23, 2014, the Syrian Electronic army successfully targeted the Reuters news agency. Users attempting to read stories on the site were redirected to a page containing the following message: "Hacked by Syrian Electronic Army. Stop publishing fake reports and false articles about Syria! UK government is supporting the terrorists in Syria to destroy it, Stop spreading its propaganda."
This cyber-attack comes days after the Syrian Electronic Army targeted the websites of the UK newspapers The Sun and The Times.
