Pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram Channel: Hacked Cellphones Of Female ISIS Prisoners At Al-Hol Camp In Syria Are 'A Trap For The Brothers Outside'; Better Not To Use Them At All

On September 19, 2023, a prominent pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram channel shared a post claiming that most phones belonging to the women in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-run Al-Hol detention camp have been hacked.

The post states that the phones constitute "a trap for the brothers outside [the camp]" and warns the latter not to converse with the women in the camp about "sensitive" topics, since the women's conversations with their husbands, each other, and relatives are being monitored, and many of the women in the camp lack "awareness" of the dangers of internet and phone usage.
