March 22, 2024

On March 19, 2024 a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram channel posted a short list of the "Basics for the Supporter" on Telegram, detailing "security axioms" one should follow. These include: not using one's name; not sharing one's photo; not publishing where one lives in any way; not using one's personal phone number to register on social media; using a reliable VPN; turning off GPS services; avoiding links that one is not certain are safe. Additionally, it is preferable to use a separate phone that does not have a SIM card for one's "support" operations.
