Pro-ISIS Telegram Channel: Do Not Open Social Media Accounts Using Phone Numbers From Unreliable Sources; Such Accounts Can Be Hacked

On September 8, 2020, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Telegram channel warned supporters against opening social media accounts using phone numbers they received from unknown or unreliable sources. The post warned that accounts that were opened with such numbers can be hacked, spied upon, or reveal the user's location. The channel advised supporters to only use numbers from a reliable source or to use an app for generating phone numbers.
