On January 15, 2020, a pro-Al-Qaeda media outlet released a news app for Android devices that sends push notifications with news updates posted by the outlet. The app was released as an .apk file via the media outlet's dissemination bot on Telegram. In an announcement made on the same day that the app was released, the outlet endorsed it, stating that the app is "managed by a group of good, righteous brothers, as we consider them. As a news agency we advise the brothers to use it..."
