On July 31, 2023, a pro-Al-Qaeda Al-Yaqin media group shared a quote from a report by the Riyadh-based Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology stating that in April-June of 2023, the center cooperated with Telegram to shut down over 1,500 channels operated by the Islamic State (ISIS), Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS), and Al-Qaeda. In light of this report, the channel referred to Al-Qaeda supporters on social media as "the heroes that are waging the hardest battle" and called on them to intensity their activities and to support the mujahideen in Somalia, the Maghreb, Mali, and Yemen.
