Kuwaiti Criminal Investigation Department Forms Cybersecurity Unit

On January 28, 2018, the Kuwaiti daily Al-Qabas reported that the acting director of Kuwait's Criminal Investigation Department, Maj.-Gen. Mohammad Al-Sharhan, had formed a team for confronting threats to Kuwait's cybersecurity. The Cyber Security team comprises eight officers specialized in protecting networks and information technology systems in public and private sector organizations, and focuses on risk control, dealing with electronic attacks, and analyzing evidence and malware.
