Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), the charity arm of Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) held a two day conference on social media in Lahore on December 26-27, 2015. The conference coincided with the launch of JuD's cyber initiative and official website - Nazariapakistan.com.
The conference was attended by some 30-40 people and featured an address by JuD chief Hafiz Saeed on the impacts of social media on ISIS, jihad, and terrorism. Saeed pointed to ISIS as a role model of using social media to propagate its message.
"Jamaatud Dawa is not using social media to promote its party or any person, but only to promote the word of Allah and to work for the defense of the ideology of Pakistan" - Abdul Rehman Salar, head of JuD Cyber Team
JuD is also active on Twitter, via its @JuDFeeds account. The group's pervious account, @JamatDawah, was suspended by Twitter admins.
