Iraqi Al-Nujaba Movement Leader Akram Al-Kaabi: UN Is Warning Against Artificial Intelligence Because The U.S. Wants To Monopolize It

On June 12, 2023, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for the creation of an international watchdog to monitor artificial intelligence, (AI) warning that it poses a potential threat to democracy and human rights. On June 16, Akram Al-Kaabi, head of the Iran-backed Iraqi militia Al-Nujaba Movement, posted a tweet claiming that the U.N. statements calling on to experts to declare AI an existential threat indicate that the U.S. is planning to monopolize this technology and prevent the rest of the world from using it "as it did with energy production, national financial transactions, etc."
