Iranian Cyber Police Arrest 240, Shut Down 900 Websites

A March 15, 2015, report in Iranian media indicated that the Iranian Cyber Police (FATA) arrested at least 240 people (men and women) and also shut down some 900 websites in Sistan and Baluchistan. According to the reports, those arrested were involved in illegal internet activity such as disseminating pornography or possessing fake social media profiles.

FATA had recently revealed its use of a "Black Spider" program used to catch dissident activity on social media.
