On November 5, 2015, it was reported that the Iran Cyber Army - the cyber unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) successfully hacked white house social media accounts, as well as email accounts belonging to Obama administration personnel, as well as staffers at the State Department's Office of Iranian Affairs and the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. U.S. authorities were reportedly investigating the attack.
