Hamas Military Wing 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades Claims Palestinians Subscribed To Military Media Service On WhatsApp 'Highest' In 2019, Says Groups Have More Than 15,000 Arab, Muslim Subscribers

On January 9, 2020, the Telegram channel of the Gaza-based Hamas military wing, 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades (Al-Qassam Brigades), posted a report that says that the number of Palestinians subscribed to Al-Qassam's service on WhatsApp was the "highest" in 2019 and that it also has 15,000 subscribers from Arab and Muslim countries.

The report also shares seven links to promote the group's presence on the Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp. In September 2019, the group shared several links to its "official" accounts on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, and WhatsApp. In August 2018, the group also posted links to the its accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, Google Plus, and the audio-sharing platform SoundCloud.
