'Hacker Of The Caliphate' Hacks Twitter Account Of Anti-ISIS Egyptian Scholar

A group affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for hacking the Twitter account of Sheikh Tariq Abdelhaleem, who is widely known as a fierce critic of ISIS. A tweet posted on Abdelhaleem's hacked account stated that "the account was hacked by the Hacker of the Caliphate." The hacked accoubnt featured pro-ISIS material and tweets criticizing Abdelhaleem's anti-ISIS position.

ISIS supporters on Twitter welcomed the hacking: For example, an ISIS supporter posted a tweet in which he suggested to hack the account of Jordanian Salafi-Jihadi Sheikh Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi, who is also a known ISIS critic. Another ISIS supporter warned Jack Dorsey, the Co-founder and CEO of Twitter, to watch his account.
