On August 22, 2018, a German-language Telegram channel shared the video message that Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) leader Abu Muhammad Al-Joulani prepared on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. The channel was created on July 12, 2018, has 195 members, primarily promotes HTS content, mostly in German, and gives as contact information an email address with the Switzerland-based encrypted email service ProtonMail.
