The hacker collective Anonymous has launched a widespread cyber-attack on Saudi Government websites as part of what it calls #OpNimr, in protest of the death sentence handed down by Saudi authorities to 17 year-old Mohammed Al-Nimr. Al-Nimr is scheduled to be executed by crucifixion for "anti-government activities" he allegedly committed in 2012.

Sites targeted by Anonymous include those of the Saudi Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Social Service, the General Administration of Education, PSATRI (the Saudi technological center for military and security sectors), and the website for Saudi Airlines.
