American Jihadi Shares Safety And Encryption Tips On Telegram

On May 3, 2016, Amriki Muhajer - an American pro-ISIS jihadi Telegram user, who appears to be a member of the hacking group Caliphate Electronic Army, shared a post including safety tips for Telegram. The tips in the message include:

- Registering with a fake number. The post offers names of apps such as Talkatone and NextPlus, which can generate fake numbers. It also suggests to change the number as often as possible.

- Turning the device encryption on in the settings menu and adding password protection to Telegram, including 2-step verification.

- Using TOP or other VPN to hide the location.

Muhajer also shared a post on use of VPN that has been recently shared by other jihadi Telegram accounts.
