On December 24, 2015, the mobile app for the Albuquerque Journal was hacked by a group calling itself the CyberCaliphate. They replaced the top story with one expressing support for the Islamic State (ISIS) and warning Albuquerque residents that their personal information was being collected via the mobile devices (see above image). "You;ll see no mercy infidels. We are already here, we are in your PCs, in each house, in each office. With Allah's permission we begin with Albuquerque", the post concluded.
