Senior Al-Qaeda Commander Abu Yahya Al-Libi Calls To Strike U.S. On Its Own Soil

Senior Al-Qaeda commander Abu Yahya Al-Libi has released a new article, dated January 13, 2010, titled "Yemen Government to U.S.: [We Are Ready to Submit] Our Neck for Slaughter Instead of Your Neck."

In the article, which was posted on the Al-Falluja forum, Al-Libi warns that all of the U.S.'s measures in the fight against terrorism will never bring it the security for which it yearns, and that today, after its series of failures in Somalia, Afghanistan, and Iraq, it realizes that its end as a superpower is certain.

Al-Libi dedicated much of his article to Yemen, accusing the government there of openly and fully collaborating with the U.S., which he says operates and hides behind Yemen's security apparatuses as if it were not involved in what is going on in Yemen and as if it was solely an internal Yemeni affair.

In light of this state of affairs, Al-Libi called on the jihad fighters to eliminate the distinction between the foreign enemy (i.e. the U.S.) and the internal enemy (i.e. the Yemeni government and its forces) that operates as the U.S.'s emissary, and to understand that both are infidel enemies. He also called on the jihad fighters not to exclude any of the options permissible under the shari'a, and to respond to the Americans measure for measure, striking at them in their own land. ...
