Introduction
Early formative Islam perceived the non-Muslim world as an area which must be brought under Islam's dominance. This concept has been at the core of the battles of Islam since its birth.
At a University of Cairo conference on the renewal of Islamic thought and Al-Azhar's rejection of religious reform in Egypt, convened by Egyptian Minister of Islamic Endowments Mohamed Mokhtar Gom'a, with the participation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, Sheik Al-Tayyeb said about Islam's battles to spread the religion of Islam:
"The [Islamic] heritage... [is what] took a group of Arab tribes that would fight each other and didn't know right from left, and, over the course of 80 years, enabled them to set one foot in Al-Andalus and another in China."

Part Two: Al-Qaeda's Online English-Language Magazine Inspire
The December 30, 2023 issue of the Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) online English-language magazine Inspire, which recently resumed publication in video format after disappearing from the scene for some time, focused, inter alia, on the subject of Islam's world dominance.
The video's main message is a call for jihad. It perceives the West to be at war with Islam, and that Muslims therefore need to stand up against Western oppression, take revenge, and defend themselves against the evil forces of the West, which it calls a Zionist-Crusader alliance. The video presents the Islamic principle of jihad as binding on every Muslim.
The theme of Islam's world dominance has been clearly expressed in official Al-Qaeda statements. For example, an Eid Al-Fitr message published by Al-Qaeda Central Command's Al-Sahab Foundation on April 29, 2023 called on Muslims everywhere to support the mujahideen in order to enable the Islamic nation to "achieve real independence from Zionist-Crusader domination" and to "achieve authentic freedom for all mankind by liberating it from the perversions of the followers of Satan."
Urging Muslims to proselytize to non-Muslims, the statement asserted that Islam "is inevitably coming in force to lead the world with its religion, values, principles, civilization, and justice," and that if world leaders possessed "the slightest bit of rationality and political astuteness," they would appoint Muslim advisors to "enlighten their minds with the reality of Islam that is headed toward ruling the world soon."[1]
A September 5, 2023 AQAP statement calling for jihad against the Saudi regime declared the West to be in decline, and urged Muslims: "Make preparations and ready yourselves to plunge into difficulties. Place before your eyes the goal of returning to lead mankind again."[2]
The December 30 AQAP Inspire video stated:

"Wake up! We want to take back our land. We have chosen the path of war in order to defend ourselves from your (the West's) oppression."

"Muslims in America and Europe, do not be content with denunciation."

"Jihad against America is binding... upon every able Muslim."

"Do not be deceived by the promises of preserving your rights... You cannot count on the message of solidarity you get from the civic groups or a political party, or the words of support you hear from a kind neighbor or a coworker."
