On September 2, 2011, Kuwaiti journalist 'Abdallah Khalaf published the second in a series of articles on The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The first article in the series, published August 30, claimed that Israel had killed Arab POWs based on instructions set out in the Protocols.[1] This second article discusses the various translations of the Protocols and "the secret Jewish plan to take over the world."
The following are excerpts:[2]
"The prominent [Egyptian] writer and journalist 'Abbas Mahmoud Al-'Aqqad owned three copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: in English, French and German... The Arabic version was delayed until it was translated by Muhammad Khalifa Al-Tunisi, a prominent thinker who worked for the Al-Ahram newspaper, and later for the Kuwaiti journal Al-Arabi, which he co-founded. The preface was written by 'Abbas Mahmoud Al-'Aqqad.
"Muhammad Khalifa Al-Tunisi used the English [version] in translating this book, which calls for spreading anarchy throughout the world, for licentiousness and moral bankruptcy, and for imposing religions on others in order to dismantle countries into [non-sovereign] entities, as is currently taking place in the Arab world.
"The book was translated from French into Russian in 1927, and later into English. There were doubts regarding the authenticity of the Protocols, and Al-'Aqqad addressed this in his preface: 'Skeptics believed that this book was similar to others published in the late 19th century, including Machiavelli's The Prince [sic], in which he determined that "the end justifies the means." That is, if you wish to establish a state or to usurp one, you must use means such as violence, murder, extermination, destruction of homes in villages and cities, and burning crops. All of this appears in the Protocols, and is in line with the saying, "The end justifies the means." [This has been true] of every war that the Jews have waged on others.'

"Abbas Mahmoud Al-'Aqqad says: 'These wrongs are described in British documents, as well as in the Talmud and [other] texts of Jewish religious law... Murdering prisoners and destroying houses over people's heads are among the dictates of the Protocols. World Zionism meant to keep the book a secret, and whenever it surfaced somewhere, the Zionists would deny [its existence]. If it appeared in a [given] city, the copies would be collected and burned, so that only [the Jews] would have access to it.'
"The translator of the Arabic version, Muhammad Khalifa Al-Tunisi, said: 'My sense of human responsibility and nationalism drove me to translate it, but an [even] more compelling purpose was to expose the honest truth.' Abbas Al-'Aqqad elaborated on the motivations behind the Jewish plot, as they appeared in the book and its translations: 'For generations, the Jews have had a secret plan to take over the world, which stemmed from hatred of all [other] nations, especially the Christians. That is why most European countries expelled the Jews at one time or another.
"'One of the steps [the Jews] took was to entice kings to oppress their peoples, and to entice the peoples to rebel against their kings under the pretext of spreading the principles of liberty. These principles were [also] implemented in Arab countries due to European influence. Furthermore, [the Jews] sowed seeds of dissent and schism in all countries by means of secret religious societies, sports and art foundations, and Jewish Masonic temples that were widespread [also] in villages and cities in Arab countries.
"'This caused the disintegration of Islamic and Christian countries, and the outbreak of regional and world wars. Jewish money played an important role, to the point where the Jews controlled global capital, took over media and cinema, and spread sex trade. They also monopolized the gold trade, the World Bank, and financial institutions in most countries of the world, as they were geniuses in [the domain of] trade...
"'The Jews divided the world into Jews and gentiles, that is, Jews and idolaters, [believing that] they alone are the beloved sons of Allah, and that He answers their calls alone.'"
