Recent months have shown increasing signs that Chechen fighters are actively involved in the fighting in Syria, aiding Islamist elements within the opposition forces in their battle against the Assad regime. Some of the reports spoke of Chechens being involved in high-profile attacks and even serving in commanding roles. These indications were countered by Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, who utterly denied any Chechen presence in Syria....
