Following recent talk of possible U.S. airstrikes on the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), supporters of the group initiated a campaign on Twitter under the title "Warning the American people." The campaign is aimed at intimidating the U.S. so that it does not take military steps against ISIS. On June 25, 2014, an account known as Rabitat Al-Ansar (Union of Supporters) posted a notification that the campaign will be held on the upcoming Friday. Supporters are asked to tweet threatening messages against the U.S. using the hashtag #CalamityWillBefallUS, which is rapidly circulating among ISIS supporters online.

The pro-ISIS  Al Battar Media group posted instructions for the campaign, which are as follows:

"1) Tweet in the offical hash tag for the campaign which is: #CalamityWillBefallUS

"2) You can tweet using English or Arabic. Tweeting in English is preferred.

"3) There will be many accounts tweeting in English which you will find on the union page (@ansaar999) under English Tweeters or you can copy paste their tweets.

"4) Photos of signs or designs with warnings to Americans should be used if available."

The hashtags #ISIS and #AllEyesOnISIS are also included in the tweet.
