On Telegram, Iran-Backed Shi'ite Militias In Iraq Post Info Of U.S. Embassy Staff, American, European Military Personnel Stationed In Iraq

On December 1, 2020, a cyberattack team affiliated with Iran-backed Shi'ite militias in Iraq posted on its Telegram channel a list of names and job descriptions of some members of the staff at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

The previous day, on November 30, the same channel announced the upcoming release of the information.

 

Also on December 1, another Telegram channel affiliated with Iran-backed Shi'ite militias in Iraq released on Telegram the personal details of several U.S. and European military officers currently stationed in Iraq.
