On May 4, 2022, a Syrian opposition website reported that on the previous day, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) lost two drones in the area east of Homs due to a "technical failure that the [IRGC] has been working to fix for two months." According to the report, the two drones took off from the Al-Sha'irat airport, which houses five additional drones of the same type. A similar IRGC drone crashed seven months ago due to technical issues, the report added.
