On June 26, 2020, a Telegram news channel affiliated with Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) claimed that a U.S. drone crashed in Iraq on June 24. The channel claimed that the drone was not equipped to fly long distances, suggested there are unannounced U.S. bases in the area of the crash.
