Last week, Shumoukh Al-Islam jihadi forum announced that it was opening its doors to non-forum members to view forum content for a limited period of five days. Shumoukh has been members-only; the five-day trial period appears to be aimed at attracting new members.
Following this announcement, a new Facebook page was launched that provided step-by-step instructions in English for joining Shumoukh.[1]
The Facebook page's author, "Youth of Islam," said that the Shumoukh forum was now open for registration, and exhorted readers to "be quick and register now. Do not miss out and regret. Join the Greatest Online Jihad Forum." Youth of Islam says that he has translated and explained the registration steps for those who haven't used forums before.
The Facebook page included eight images with instructions in English added to them (see below), covering the initial registration on Shumoukh, activating the registration, and posting an initial post on the forum.
Youth of Islam's profile picture on Facebook consists of several masked individuals wearing suicide vests while holding the banner of the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq (ISI).
