On July 27, 2022, a Syrian opposition website, reported that experts from Lebanese Hizbullah arrived in Syria's Homs Governorate to provide drone operations training to an Iran-backed Afghan militia which controls the area. The report quoted unidentified sources in reporting that "Lebanese Hizbullah experts also arrived in the area a "few days ago" with a "vehicle carrying Iran-made training drones," ostensibly "with the aim of training the militia to operate the drones."
