ISIS Supporters Chatter About Hackers Using ChatGPT To Build Malware, Encryption Tools, Phishing Templates, Fake Websites

On March 24, 2023, a channel specializing in sharing information security tips on the Islamic State (ISIS)-operated Rocket.Chat server published an Arabic-language post discussing ChatGPT and its uses for coding and building software for hacking and encryption. The post claimed that "many in the hacking community on the dark web are starting to make use of [ChatGPT] to build malware, encryption tools, phishing templates, and fake websites from scratch, with no coding mistakes.

The post concluded: "The year 2023 will be a very special year for hackers, thanks to chatbots and AI programs."
