On October 3, 2023 the Iranian Army reported that it carried out a drill involving a new drone, called Kaman-19.[1] The drill involved 200 UAVs and entailed electronic warfare exercises and aerial radar jamming operations, said Army spokesman General Alireza Sheikh, adding that the goal is promoting "peace and friendship" in the region. Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari commanded the war game, which took place across Iran "from the waters of the Persian Gulf to [the country's] northern regions."
The report added that Iran's Armed Forces intends to use drones for border control, including Chamrosh, Yasir, Sadeq, Pelican, Ababil, Kaman-12, Yazdan, and Mohajer drones. A central command and control center called Zolfaqar is set to coordinate all drone operations.
