Sami Abu Zuhri, head of the political department of Hamas abroad said on a January 28, 2024 show on Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) that Hamas will purify Gaza, and return to Jerusalem, their land. He added that the "criminal Zionists" must decide whether they want to continue the conflict and "pay the price" or to leave the Palestinian land and go back to "where they came from." He said that Hamas will continue the fight regardless of the price and that the recent Iran-backed militia attack on U.S. soldiers in Jordan was a "clear message" to the Americans and Israelis, adding that "they should grasp this message before it is too late."
