Hamza Mansour: "By Allah, the role of the Jordanians is not that of the Red Crescent or Red Cross. The role of the Jordanians is one of blood and martyrdom. The volunteers set out from all the districts of Jordan. From Jordan, our brave armed forces set out, and their blood embraced the blood of their brothers, in Jerusalem, in Latrun, and in Bab Al-Wad.

"We are convinced that what happened back then will recur soon, Allah willing. We will not be bound by the peace treaty with Israel, because this is an illegitimate treaty, imposed upon the Jordanian people. Our people, throughout the country, reject this treaty, as well as any policy that stems from it. [...]

"The time for us to play our role is drawing near. It was foretold by the Prophet Muhammad, who said: 'Judgment Day will not come until you fight the Jews and kill them.' Allah willing, we will kill them, and the Jordan River will become the passage to liberation and Return."
